Kurt Mantonya is an applied cultural anthropologist with more than15 years of experience in the central plains and southwest. He brings to the Heartland Center experience in Native American and Latino cultural issues, project coordination, collaborative community based planning, and the rapid growth of rural communities. He’s been involved in numerous projects involved with applied cultural anthropology of the Great Plains, health care issues in the Native American and Latino communities, and policy analysis.
Mr. Mantonya’s professional interests include the Society for Applied Anthropology, American Anthropological Association, International Association for Public Participation, and many other anthropological associations and societies. He received a Masters Degree in Anthropology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002 and a B.S. in Sociology from Kansas State University in 1994. Before coming to the Heartland Center, he served as program director of the AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps*VISTA programs for the City of Lincoln Parks and Recreation.
