To redefine and refine what "rural" means, and to empower rural people and places by:
- providing useful information in "plain English" in ways that interest both academic and community audiences;
- publishing invited articles from leading researchers in a variety of fields;
- publishing peer-reviewed academic and community—based research, commentary and policy articles that address issues affecting the lives of those living in the Great Plains Region;
- presenting theory, and stimulating discussion;
- encouraging more research;
- making access to information simple and easy, but also valuable and successful;
- while placing particular emphasis on the rural perspective.
Researchers are encouraged to submit their work for peer review. We are not discipline specific, but rather focus on rural issues. Research from all areas of academia are welcome, including arts, sciences, education, engineering, agriculture, architecture, law, medicine, veterinary medicine, phramacology, and all others.
